3D Dental Imaging

3D Dental Imaging

The mouth is a complex array of bone, nerves, soft tissue, muscles, and ligaments, and most of it is hidden beneath skin and bone. Because of this, dental X-rays aren’t always enough to see everything. When a deeper problem is suspected, Dr. Muna Strasser uses specialized 3D imaging (CBCT) to properly diagnose the problem and create a comprehensive treatment plan.

Cosmetic Dentistry Technology

In addition to our 3D dental imaging technology, other advances include VELscope, DIAGNOdent, and Dental Lasers including NightLase, a non-invasive way of decreasing the amplitude of snoring through the use of gentle, superficial laser light. By harnessing the power of a laser, we also avoid the sounds and sensations of a drill.

DIAGNOdent

DIAGNOdent is a dental laser capable of detecting cavities in teeth. This means we are able to detect cavities when they are smaller, which results in a smaller restoration. Not only does it help prevent the spread of decay, but it also helps us treat your teeth more conservatively: when we spot decay sooner, the necessary fillings are typically simpler and shallower, preserving more of the tooth.

Digital X-ray System

Our digital x-ray system reduces the amount of radiation you receive by over 80% compared to traditional x-rays. The digital X-ray image is instantly displayed on a large computer screen and can be enhanced and magnified to show conditions such as cavities or structural weaknesses in teeth. It’s a wonderful tool for helping our patients fully understand their treatment options.

Surgical A-Series Microscope

Locating cracks, caries, root canals for procedures and performing more accurate restorations with improved margins are just a few ways we use the A-Series Surgical Microscope. The visual enhancement it offers helps us capture the details of a patient’s anatomy, allowing for greater precision.

VELscope

VELscope has a specialized hand piece that emits a beam of light into your mouth, which lets us detect abnormal tissue that may be oral cancer, even before it is visible on the surface. Pre-malignant changes start below the surface, at the basement membrane. These changes may not be apparent to the naked eye until the disease progresses to the surface.

Fotona LightWalker Dental Laser

Fontana LightWalker Dental Lasers are a treatment solution for many of the tooth and gum treatments that have previously required a drill or scalpel. By harnessing the power of a laser, we can avoid the sounds and sensations of a drill. In addition, scalpels and anesthesia are often unnecessary.

NightLase

NightLase Laser Treatment is a fast, non-invasive way of increasing the quality of a patient’s sleep. It lessens the effects of sleep apnea. It also decreases the amplitude of snoring through the use of gentle, superficial laser light. It’s a gentle and easy way for you to stop snoring and regain a good night’s rest.
