“Every time I meet new patients, I am fascinated with their stories. I get excited to see if I can use my expertise to improve their lives through treatment, or sometimes just the right referral to my network of specialists that can solve what can sometimes be complex puzzles, in order for a patient to enjoy the level of health they desire. I love being able to bring form and function back to patients, alleviate their pain, or make them look and feel beautiful. Educating patients is so liberating for all.”

Muna Strasser DDS
You will always find her taking a course on the weekends or teaching others. She absolutely loves her career, which has led her all over the world and given her an amazing “family” of patients. She makes it her mission to care for the comfort and health of her patients, and her team.
Muna Strasser DDS: Background & Education
As the daughter of an American diplomat to the UN, Dr. Strasser grew up in many Mediterranean countries, but returned to the US for college. She went to college, dental school, and did her residency in Virginia, and started practice in the Washington, DC area. She moved to the Quad Cities in 2002.
Her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Strasser (“the other Dr. Strasser”) is a Professor of geology at Augustana College. They decided to make the Midwest home and raise their family here, since both had roots in the Chicago suburbs and loved the area.
Training & Ongoing Education
While her postdoctoral training was heavily medicine and surgically oriented, Dr. Strasser developed an interest in TMJ, and sleep/airway dentistry, as well as health and wellness, early in her career in Virginia. She discovered that there was very little help for a problem from which she, herself, suffered, and so she began a long and arduous academic course to acquire the skills that would let her provide the level of care needed by patients. The journey will continue as she grows in practice, and you will always find her taking a course on the weekends or teaching others.
Associations & Awards
Driven by ongoing education and a lifelong desire to pursue excellence for the benefit of her patients, Dr. Strasser has been honored by Consumers’ Research Council of America with the “America’s Top Dentists” Award since 2009. She has also been honored with the “Top Dentists” award which is chosen by dental professionals themselves. Criteria for it includes: experience, training, education, professional associations, and board certifications.
